YEAR 9 YEP Clean up Australia

On Friday, the 1st of March 2019, the YEP class along with Miss Ottone, took part in ‘Clean up Australia day.’
We ordered fancy gloves and logo-printed disposable bags and headed over to Mount Carberry Recreation Reserve.
Once we arrived at the reserve, we teamed up and put on some gloves and grabbed a bag and split up to start cleaning. Whilst picking up rubbish, a few students found some trollies, so doing the right thing, we went to return them to Coles as a class.
This year was Clean up Australia Day's 30th Anniversary. Although the founder, Ian Kiernan, unfortunately passed away from cancer in July 2017, he really wanted his daughter, Kim, to continue this national event! So she continues to, and every year, thousands of people all over the country help Clean up Australia!!
