State Athletics Championships

MGC had 26 students competing  in the SSV State Athletics Championships, held at the premier Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park. 

Battling warm, windy conditions , all competitors represented the college with skill, passion and  dedication. 

The team equaled their recent previous best performance with a haul of 4 medals, however, this time the tally included medals other than bronze. A fantastic achievement for the girls for their efforts on the day and throughout the season. 

A special mention goes to Yr12 student, Danielle Macaulay, who ended her MGC sporting career with a silver medal in the 4 x 100m relay event. Danielle has been a prime example of dedication and professionalism throughout her years at MGC, and I would like to personally congratulate her not only on her successful final year at MGC, but to her service to the school’s sport program overt the past 6 years.

Whilst not receiving a medal, the achievements of the following students should also be noted. Making the State Finals is an incredible achievement, and all competitors should be proud of their achievements.
