Assistant Principal's Report

Nathan Wallace

It may be only week five, but there’s been so much happening already this term! We welcomed all students back to onsite learning, then on the same day said farewell to the Year 12 VCE students and wished them well for their exams. This week students have been involved in student led conferences (SLCs). Congratulations to all students for how they have returned to learning onsite and for their leadership in the SLCs.

Looking forward, there are many things happening in the coming weeks:

  • Changing covid restrictions will allow us to welcome next year’s Year 7 students for their first transition day on November 16th
  • The final cycle of progress reports for 2021 will be published on Monday 15th November
  • Year 9-11 exams will run from November 19th – 24th
  • The 2022 Headstart program will commence on November 29th and run for two weeks
  • Semester Reports will be published in the final week of Headstart.

As we approach the end of the 2021 school year, I want to emphasise the importance of maintaining focus on learning throughout the busy month ahead. Students should use the SLC and upcoming Progress Reports to identify strengths in their learning and also areas that can be improved through targeted effort in the coming weeks.

The upcoming Year 9, 10 and 11 exams provide valuable practice for learning how to study and demonstrate understanding in a timed environment. I wish our students good luck with achieving their learning goals during this important time of the year.
