Being mindful of burnout and practicing self-care

Staff at Maffra Secondary College spent half the day on Monday 1st November focused on staff wellbeing.  The purpose was to recognise that 2020 and 2021 have been particularly difficult. Staff were able to reflect on their current levels of stress, be mindful of burnout and start developing a self-care plan.  Staff were encouraged to make time for enjoyable, calming and/or mindful activities with colleagues and friends and to give themselves permission for     ' guilt free time'.

Our Mental Health Practitioner, Megan Kenny and Wellbeing Leader Emily Boyle facilitated the afternoon with a session on being mindful of burnout and practicing self-care followed by activities that staff chose to participate in.
