Principal's report

Mr Shaun McClare

I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which Kalinda Primary school gathers, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I would like to pay my respects to their elders past, present, and emerging.

Students back on-site

It is so nice to start welcoming back our students on-site this week and next. It has been a long and challenging time spent in Remote Learning for students, families, and staff. Seeing so many smiles as our Foundation students returned on Monday morning was just wonderful.

As well as excitement and happiness, many students and their families will naturally be feeling nervous about the return to on-site learning. Our staff is dedicated to prioritising well-being and connections as our students return.

We have implemented DET protocols within our local context to maximise the level of safety as our students return. Please refer to this link for our current protocols. These will be updated as any changes happen throughout the term.

It is important that any positive COVID tests for anyone in our school community who has been on-site are reported to me as soon as possible. Please notify me by calling me on 0431707351, 7 days a week.

Face Masks

One of the key changes as our students return on-site is the protocols about wearing face masks.

Staff members are required to wear face masks indoors, outdoors, and when teaching when practicable.

Year 3-6 students are required to wear face masks when indoors at school.

F-2 students are recommended to wear face masks when indoors at school.

All classes will be having discussions about using masks in a hygienic manner. We recommend students bring their own small bag or pencil case to keep their mask/s in and the classrooms will have named zip-loc bags for students who don't already have a way to keep their face masks stored cleanly when they take them off to eat/drink and go outside.

Please ensure you send a spare named face mask along with your children as they come to school.

2022 Enrolments

We are still accepting enrolments for 2022. If you have any questions or would like to chat about enrolment, please call the office on 03 9876 3289. Please find the enrolment form below and it can be sent to the school via post (Kalinda Primary School, 39-49 Kalinda Rd, Ringwood 3134) or by email to kalinda.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au
