Junior School

What a delight it has been to have students back at school. We have had almost full attendance from our Early Learning classes and quite a few older ones as well who are chomping at the bit to have their friends back next week. The teachers are chomping at the bit too. We all are! We just can’t wait to get back to that excited hum of an operational school, albeit with COVID safety measures in place.

Whilst on the topic of COVID measures, a word on mask wearing. Naturally, all staff will be complying with rules stipulated by the Public Health Order in relation to masks.

Please refer to the School’s COVID Safety Plan for a full explanation.  For primary school students wearing masks is recommended but not mandated. We see this as a decision for the family. Please let us know if you would like us to encourage your child to wear a mask, otherwise we will assume that you have decided as a family that this is not a practice you wish to follow. Also, a reminder that whilst we will continue to insist on and reinforce good hygiene practices amongst the children, and continue our enhanced cleaning arrangements, social distancing is not required at primary schools, though we will remind children to desist from hugging and unusually close contact. We believe we have a COVID safe environment and are keen to see everyone back at school. Please contact me if you have any particular concerns.

The return to school seems to have gone well for most of our students so far. Please have a look at advice with some return to school tips for parents and carers.

I can’t wait for next week and a full return to school. I am sure many of you are feeling the same!
