Kinder 2022 Orientation

We are very excited to be able to offer an Orientation program at St Edward’s School for children who are enrolled to commence Kindergarten in 2022.

In the interest of keeping everyone in our community safe we are going to provide small group transition sessions during Week 5, 1st - 5th November. Please ensure you check your email for the scheduled day that your child will attend. Also on Friday 12th November (Week 6), from 9.30 - 11.30am, your child will be involved in a whole grade Orientation with his/her classroom teacher. Children are asked to wear play clothes and bring a hat, drink bottle and snack.

Students in Sick Bay

In the current climate, if your child presents at the front office complaining of feeling sick, we are required to call parents to collect them. Likewise, if your child has a cough, sore throat, runny nose or other illness, please keep them at home and do not send them to school. As per NSW Health guidelines, if your child has any cold or flu-like symptoms, please have them COVID tested.  A negative test result needs to be provided to the school and the child needs to be symptom free prior to their return. Thank you for your continued support and co-operation.

Late Arrivals

We cannot stress enough the importance of getting your children to school on time every day. There has been an increase of students arriving at school after the bell time of 8.45am. Students arriving at school late has an impact on the students themselves, the class and the teacher, not to mention the valuable learning time the students are missing if this is a regular occurrence. Please support us in ensuring your children arrive at school before 8.45am.

Visitors

Our Stage 3 guidelines remain in place at this point so we are still unable to welcome parents into our school:

  • If you require new school uniform items, please order and pay for them via the Qkr! App and the items will be sent home with your child.
  • Our clothing pool is not open to parents/carers. If you wish to purchase second hand uniform items from the clothing pool, please contact our office staff and they will happily have a look for you.
  • If you need to collect your child early, please phone the school office and the office ladies will call your child from class and sign them out on Compass for you. Your child will then meet you at the front gate.

Second Hand Clothing Pool

Have you recently had a sort through your children’s summer school uniforms and have unwanted items? If so, both the Infants and Primary Clothing Pools are in need of good quality second hand items. Items can be donated or sold on consignment with 20% commission taken by the school. Most second hand items are $5 each, girls summer tunics $10 and winter tunics $15.

Please phone either school office if there are any second hand uniform items you require from the Clothing Pool and the ladies will happily check availability for you.

Transport for NSW has moved the School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS) information and application portal to transportnsw.info. This is an exciting step in helping schools and families find all their travel information in the one place.

From 1st October 2021, customers who visit the SSTS website at https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts for school student travel will be automatically redirected to https://transportnsw.info/tickets-opal/ticket-eligibility-concessions/school-student-travel. This means, no matter how customers try to access school travel information, they will land in the right place.
