VCAL

VCAL has continued to keep students engaged through providing hands-on tasks for remote learning. Currently the focus is on the maintenance and safe operation of equipment. Students chose a piece of equipment and outlined its operation, developed a safe operation plan and videoed someone implementing it. From this a community message is to be developed and an analysis of the positive and negative factors that influence people’s behaviour in the workforce. Another interesting activity has involved the cooking of parmigiana via zoom through instruction from Gilly.

VET

This week VET students have been able to return to HDSC in order to work on their practical tasks. RIST has resumed some limited practical classes, while Engineering normally delivered at Monivae is at this stage still focused on remote learning. The trainers are confident that students should be able to complete the outcomes for this year through completion of theory work on-line and attending practical classes as required.
