Religious Education

During Remote Learning 2.0, the Religious Education Faculty have been working hard to ensure our students across year levels are supported and working to their academic potential, whilst also inviting students to identify with the living spirit of Christ through our learning experiences.

The VCE Unit 3 & 4 Religion and Society teachers would like to commend our Year 11 students on their dedication to this accelerated subject. We are continuously seeing our young people overcome adversity in a remote context, dedicating their time and energy to their course work, engaging in after school tutorials, and taking initiative for their own learning and outcomes. It is a pleasure watching some of our seniors flourish in this VCE subject and we are looking forward to seeing the fruit of their hard work in their results.

A real highlight in the RE faculty has been leading our Year 7 students in their investigation of Scripture and how the Bible uses multiple layers of meaning to create a complex truth narrative. The Year 7 classes have been using a variety of literacy focused and critical thinking tools to delve deeper into the symbolism and imagery of the Old Testament stories and the parables of the New Testament. One of the tools that they have been experimenting with is the use of a visualisation poster. We hope that our Year 7s have developed some valuable skills which they can continue to develop in their Religious Education studies.
