Book Week festivities

Dust off your favourite books and start brainstorming costume ideas - the countdown to our Book Week celebrations is on!

Book Week at St Mary's College is taking place next week (24-28 August), with our popular book character dress-up parade to be held on Wednesday 26 August at 1.45pm.

While parents and carers are unfortunately unable to attend this year's parade due to COVID-19 restrictions, we invite you all to keep an eye on our social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) for video and photo updates from the day.

Our staff in the Student Resource Centre have been busy planning activities in line with this year's theme, 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds'.

Along with the character parade, students in Kinder to Year 2 will be participating in the official Book Week colouring-in competition, Year 3-6 will be battling it out in the 'Create a Book-Creature competition', with the chance to also enter a 'Fact or Fiction' quiz. Happy reading, everyone!

Spread the warmth this winter

The SMC St Vincent de Paul group needs your winter woolies! New or second-hand, clean and in good condition, we really appreciate any donations of warm clothing or blankets you can spare.

What can you donate? Have a clear-out of your wardrobes and drawers and see if you have any spares of the following items:

  • Blankets
  • Hats
  • Gloves
  • Scarves
  • Socks
  • Jumpers
  • Coats

Students are reminded that this Friday 21 August is 'wear your woolies' dress down day in return for a gold coin donation. Thank you for your generosity and support!
