St Mary of the Cross MacKillop:
10th Anniversary of Sainthood
Ten years ago, on 16th October 2010, Blessed Mary MacKillop was canonised and became known as St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
Mary MacKillop was a woman whose life encourages us to “take fresh courage”. Her perseverance in the face of adversity came
from her deep desire to live in and for God.
Walking amidst life’s difficulties, she had the capacity to lift people’s spirits as she encouraged them to find meaning and purpose in their lives. Her heart was grounded in God’s mission, loving tenderly the many people who shared their troubles with her.
Courage Hour
16th October 2020, 8pm
The Sisters of St Joseph invite us to participate in a global Vigil to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Mary’s canonisation. This special event will be an hour of deep peace, prayer and reflection on Mary’s courage. You can host your own celebration or participate online via the Sisters of Saint Joseph website. Together, we can all follow Mary’s lead and #TakeFreshCourage.
May God bless us all and keep us safe.
