National Day Against Bullying
The 18th March is the National Day Against Bullying. As part of the activities to support the day the eSafety Commissioner has free Parent/Carer webinars available, with a focus on cybersafety. (Webinars for parents and carers | eSafety Commissioner)
eSafety's parent guide to cyberbullying and online drama
This webinar will look at how parents and carers can support young people to have safe and respectful online relationships and what to do if things go wrong.
It is designed for parents and carers of young people aged 11 to 18 years old. However, given the increased use of the internet by our children in the last few years, I suggest it may be useful to parents of younger children as well.
It will cover:
- starting conversations with your child about their online friendships and positive ways to deal with changing relationships
- understanding the rights, laws and community expectations that govern social media use
- where to seek help if your child is involved in a cyberbullying incident.
The webinar will include case studies, research and targeted advice so you can support the young people in your life to have safe, enjoyable online experiences.
Session time: (AEDT)
Thursday 10 March 12.30 to 1.30 pm
Tuesday 15 March 12.30 to 1.30 pm
Wednesday 23 March 7.30 to 8.30 pm
Prep Ice Breaker
It is lovely each year to welcome new families to our school community. Thank you to the Parents’ Association for organising the Prep Ice Breaker again this year on Friday 25th March (parents have been provided a separate flyer). We look forward to working with our new families for many years to come.
Parent Teacher Conferences
The parent teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday 6th April from 2 to 8pm. These will be held online again this year. Parents will be asked to sign up for their appointments through COMPASS.
End of Term
The last day of Term One is Friday 8th April. Students will be dismissed at 2:30pm.
Beginning of Term 2
School resumes on Tuesday 26th April.
Reporting Positive Covid Cases Within the School Community
Thank you to our parents who have been keeping us informed of positive cases within the children/family.
Many parents will have received emails through COMPASS of positive COVID cases within their Year Level. As our students work across their year levels, throughout the day at different times and for different purposes, all families across the level are being informed as the likelihood of contact is high.
Parents are asked to be vigilant if they receive a notification, looking for COVID type symptoms. Parents are also asked to continue to test their children twice a week with the RATs provided.
Labour Day
Next Monday (14th March) is a public holiday to celebrate Labour Day - the school is not open on Monday.
Curriculum Day
The next Curriculum Day is Monday 21st March. On this day staff will be continuing their work on Literacy. Students do not attend school on the 21st March. Their Care will be offering care on the day.
