FOOTSTEPS  DANCE COMPANY:  "HARMONY DAY"  INCURSION

On Monday we had the first of three HARMONY DAY sessions with our Footsteps Dance company instructor, Rhiannon. Students enjoyed their 30 minute session, learning dance moves and sequences for our Harmony Day performance on March 21st. The next session is on Thursday 17th March and the third session on Harmony Day.

Having Footsteps share their dance skills and knowledge of Storytelling through dance is a wonderful experience for our students. Our students are given the opportunity to respectfully learn more about Cultural diversity and the significance it plays in our wonderfully dynamic community at SJV and beyond. Not to mention learning some really cool dance moves…

This year Footsteps is sharing the following program: The Prep students are focusing on a New Zealand, Maori inspired dance.

Yr. 1/2 & Yr 3/4'sare working on a Indian inspred, Bollywood style dance.

Yr. 5/6’s are learning a contemporary Australian Indigenous inspired dance, set to the music ‘Marryuna’ by Baker Boy. We all look forward to seeing these dances in the final performance on Harmony Day,  Monday 21st March.
