Clean Up Club

Thanks to our Sustainability Captains Anastasia & Damanpreet for setting up and running our first ‘Clean Up Club” session at lunchtime on Tuesday. Lots of helpers from Year 3/4 volunteered to give up some of their playtime to clean our grounds and sort the rubbish into the appropriate bins. The Clean Up Club will operate every second Tuesday and rotate around the school, cleaning different areas. Thanks Team!

Classroom Sustainability Monitors

Last Wednesday and today the Sustainability captains supported classroom sustainability monitors in sorting and emptying their soft plastics and mixed recycling bins. This will happen weekly on a Wednesday afternoon. They will continue to support classroom monitors until they are able to do this weekly by themselves to create a more sustainable SJV! This week they sorted and emptied their bins in under 15 minutes! A fantastic effort from our captains and the classroom monitors.

Please email rlameijn@sjvmulgrave.catholic.edu.auif you would like to support our sustainability journey and take some of our collected soft plastics to Coles or Woolworths for recycling. Support from families would be appreciated.

Soft Plastics At Home

If you don't collect soft plastics at home why don't you give it a go! Soft plastics are any plastics that can be scrunched and are free of food. You could collect your soft plastics in a bread bag and drop them off at Coles or Woolworths for recycling. Happy Recycling!
