As we enter into prayer this week, let us remember we are never alone as we pray. Second Sunday of Lent Year C, 13 March 2022.
As we enter into prayer this week, let us remember we are never alone as we pray. As companions in Christ, we are part of an eternal community united by the light of Christ within us. Christ is our help and our stronghold: together let us answer the call and listen to him. - Australian Catholics Reflection
Lent & Project Compassion 2022
Each family received a Project Compassion donation box to collect funds throughout the season of Lent. This box is to be returned to school by the end of Term 1. Thank you.
At last Friday's assembly, students viewed the following video clip about Janice.
A Wagilak woman, Janice is a traditional dancer who tells her family’s stories through movements handed down over generations. “With many elders gone, we must transfer knowledge, to keep a connection to culture and nurture future leaders,” Janice says. “Me and my family, we keep the culture going, we need to keep our culture strong."

St Patrick's Day
Thursday 17th March
Students and staff are invited to wear a 'touch of green' this Thursday to commemorate St Patrick's Day - 2022.
St. Patrick of Ireland is one of the world's most popular saints. He was born in Roman Britain and when he was fourteen or so, he was captured by Irish pirates during a raiding party and taken to Ireland as a slave to herd and tend sheep.
At the time, Ireland was a land of Druids and pagans but Patrick turned to God and wrote his memoir, The Confession. In The Confession, he wrote:
"The love of God and his fear grew in me more and more, as did the faith, and my soul was rosed, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers and in the night, nearly the same. I prayed in the woods and on the mountain, even before dawn. I felt no hurt from the snow or ice or rain."
Patrick's captivity lasted until he was twenty, when he escaped after having a dream from God in which he was told to leave Ireland by going to the coast. There he found some sailors who took him back to Britain and was reunited with his family.

St Joseph's Feast Day - Saturday 19th March
We celebrate two feast days for Joseph: March 19 for Joseph the Husband of Mary and May 1 for Joseph the Worker. March 19 has been the most commonly celebrated feast day for Joseph, and it wasn't until 1955 that Pope Pius XII established the Feast of "St. Joseph the Worker" to be celebrated on May 1. This is also May Day (International Workers' Day) and believed to reflect Joseph's status as the patron of workers.
Students and staff will come together next Monday to celebrate the feast of St Joseph. This will also be a time to officially induct our School Leaders at our special liturgy.
Please join with us in prayer as we continue to pray for the people of the Ukraine:
Thanks for you support for the flood damaged schools in the Lismore Diocese. We raised $200 through our mufti day last Friday.
