READING IN 3/4

This term the 3/4s have been reading the text “The Different Dog” by Paul Jennings. We have been using the text to develop our reading strategies. We started researching the author and finding out the types of books Paul Jennings writes. We then made predictions about the text and tried to use our prior knowledge to write a blurb and draw a front cover. We then started to develop our questioning skills to help us think deeply and further our comprehension skills. This week we dived into the vocabulary of the text and developed our dictionary skills to find the meaning of new words. All the students have been highly engaged in the text and look forward to finding out what happens in each chapter
