School Council

The new 2022 School Council met for the first time on Thursday evening. Prior to the meeting we have a brief tour of the new Kindergarten play area (which is almost complete). This is an exceptional and well thought out space that will really enhance the experience of MPRPS kinder children. Congratulations to Al and all the MPRPS staff who have worked towards realising the plans for this area.

The following office bearers have been appointed for 2022:

President - Rebecca Smith

Council reviewed the draft Annual Report for 2021. The Annual Report assesses the school's performance against its strategic plan and annual implementation plan. It pulls together a range of data including surveys of parents, staff and students as well as teacher assessments of student achievement and Naplan results. The Annual Report will be released in final form to the school community in June.

A message from the Student

Harmony Week 'We all belong'

Harmony Week (Monday 21st - Sunday 27th March) celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. We will be celebrating our own Harmony Day on Friday 25th March where students will participate in activities and be encouraged to dress up in either traditional clothing of the culture they identify with or colours of their flag. Whitehorse Council will also be celebrating Harmony Week with a concert held at Strathdon House and orchard Precinct in Forest Hill on Sunday March 20th. See the link for more details https://www.whitehorse.vic.gov.au/things-do/festivals-and-events/harmony-day

Mount Pleasant's Got Talent

MPGT is a whole school event that allows students to share their talents with the school community.  Students have the opportunity to audition individually, with a partner or group for a place in MPGT final.

Students who make it to the final will perform in the last week of Term 2 on Wednesday 22nd June. Acts can be anything from singing and dancing, to comedy and puppet shows and should go for no longer than a minute. There is a separate Senior and Junior section and there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for both. Sign up sheets will be given to class teachers later this week. Students who wish to participate will be asked to sign up to Audition.  The Auditions will start Week 1, Term 2 in front of a panel of teachers who are eager to see the many talents of our students.
