Student Learning around KPS

Look what we are learning.

Foundation

Here are some photos of Foundation G students creating Unifix animals and counting them!

In Numeracy this week FA students made their own Zoo animal from connector blocks.

Then they pulled it apart and sorted the colours, creating lots of different-sized towers. They were very clever indeed and drew the towers to record their learning.

Grade 3

A few pieces of work from 3H. Firstly Sam S wrote a colour about blue.

Anna C with a free writing piece about her sister's birthday.

The Grade 3 students are having a blast in the garden with Kellie. They are planting, watering, tasting, and learning so much more! Their smiling faces show how much they enjoy the time outdoors.

Our first meal in the SAKG kitchen was the delicious Zucchini  Slice. The fresh zucchinis were all from our garden. I certainly think the Grade 3’s did an excellent job looking after the garden this year. Apart from zucchini, we also had carrots and tomatoes, also from our amazing garden. This dish was made, guided by Kelly.

Kelly split the team into groups, then each group was given a different job in different parts of the kitchen. One group grated the veggies and the other group made the mix. Soon all the ingredients were mixed together in Kelly’s SUPERBOWL!

Then the batter was put into the oven and the smell of baking quiche filled the stadium. And the taste, well it was truly YUM! Everyone loved it but I wonder what’s for dessert?...

Our dessert dish in the SAKG kitchen was Chocolate cake.

Everyone thought it was delicious, including the helpers. It was good. I'm pretty sure everyone will want to bake it again. Thanks to the helpers and the  AMAZING KELLY, it has been a huge success! If we didn’t have Kelly and the helpers there wouldn’t be any fun cooking but back to the kitchen.

On this very day, the chocolate cake-making happened outside of the actual kitchen. The helpers guided us on the journey of making the cake. Everyone had different roles. Some measured the ingredients and others read the recipe.

Finally, we ate and enjoyed the food outside near the oval and we were so happy and excited to have started our cooking and food journey in Grade 4!
