Coding Club

Laura Courtenay

Over the past term students from Year 3 have been spending their Thursday lunchtimes exploring coding through an online program called Scratch. Scratch is the world’s largest coding community for children and a coding language it allows students to create digital stories, games, and animations. Scratch is designed, developed, and moderated by the Scratch Foundation, a non-profit organization. Students use Scratch to code their own interactive stories, animations, and games. In the process, they learn to use  computational thinking and problem solving skills; think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively  — essential skills for everyone in today’s society. Read what the students had to say about their experiences.
