Dear Parent/Guardian,
Welcome back to all of our awesome students and families!
Our Term has begun with excellent routine and rigour and all students are back looking happy and excited to see their teachers and friends.
Firstly, we would like to congratulate all of our award recipients for Week 1 and Week 2. Well done to you all on your marvellous efforts.
Term 2 is going to be a short-term. i.e only 9 weeks. We have heaps of nice events and activities planned for our students. Please read our Term 2 Key Dates so you can plan for items coming up.
NEW Whole School Wellbeing Initiative:
Smiling Minds will be a program that our students will be engaging with across the year. Mrs Waldron along with key staff will develop targeted resilience workshops for our students.

School Values Revision
As we launch our new Strategic Plan there is an opportunity for community to reflect and revise our whole school values. As a school we have identified that our students often confuse or find it difficult to recall all of our current values. We believe that an acronym will assist the students and our community to confidently articulate our values. We will very shortly share our discussions with our parent community as to which acronym best represents our school community before it is finalised.
We're all about Sprinkling Kindness..
On Thursday 4th of May all the students came together to write their personal messages about Kindness. Our students each wrote on a statement and sprinkled their message on a piece of bread. Together as a whole school we published one large bread mural. We take a strong stance on cutting bullying and being kind!
ANZAC Day Dawn Service
On Tuesday 25th of April our captains along with some of our students participated in the Dawn Service at Officer District. It was a great morning as we laid the wreath and showed our remembrance for this significant day.
Photography and Videographer Update
We would like to thank Melissa H for taking professional photos our students, staff and community. These photos will be used for our new website along with key presentation areas of the school. Melissa has done an awesome job and she is highly recommended from our experience; professional, respectful and punctual!
This week we will be having a professional photographer attending our school to create a virtual tour of the school. We anticipate this recording to be available for the school community by week 5. The recording will encapsulate the vision of OPS.
