St James Athletics Carnival

On Tuesday 4th April we held the St James House Athletics Carnival under glorious sunshine. What a day it was. Students ran, jumped and threw all day.

Events included: long, triple and high jump, discus and shot put, 100m, 200m, 800m and hurdles.

Our Juniors arrived at 11am and were very eager to begin all the activities they had been practising during their PE lessons.

A huge thank you to all of our parents who volunteered on the day. We could not have run the day without you.

Congratulations to the students in Byrne (Red House) who won the most points and Mulquin (Green House) who won the spirit award.

Holt Soccer LP

On Friday 28th April St James took two teams to the Holt District LP. Our boys team won, drew and lost their games. However our biggest prize for the boys was how proud our coach Steve(Kiki’s dad) was. He reiterated exactly what I know about our students already, that our students are always well behaved and respectful.

Our girls team also won, lost and drew their games but on a count back made it through to the finals. They played for 22 minutes without anyone scoring and in the last minute of the game St James managed to score and won! Congratulations to our girls team who will now be competing at the next level- Beachside on Monday the 24th July. A huge thank you to Brett (Nieve's dad) who coached our girls team and will continue to run training sessions starting this Tuesday the 9th May during lunchtimes.
