Student of the Week Awards Presented 31/3/23

Noah J. - 00M

This award is presented to Noah for the resilience he has shown since having his arm in a cast. Noah has been restricted with activities he can do at school, which has been frustrating but he has continued to put a smile on his face and tried to see the positive side of things. I am so proud of you Noah and believe you are destined for great things!

Lucas R. - 1/2B

This award goes to Lucas for his effort in his narrative writing. Lucas developed his narrative throughout our writing cycle, creating multiple drafts, each one with new improvements. Lucas followed his plan and added more detail to his writing to make it more interesting. Keep up the good work Lucas!

Brooklyn R. - 1/2C

This award goes to Brooklyn for his wonderful work in writing. Brooklyn independently wrote a detailed narrative, using a character that he likes as inspiration. Once we had finished drafting his narrative, Brooklyn carefully edited his work. He was able to improve his writing piece and fix many errors. Well done Brooklyn!

This award goes to Gracie for showing excellence and effort consistently across her school tasks. She works well with others and is always ready to help. Well done Gracie!

This award goes to Bodhi for the fantastic text-to-self connections he was able to make during reading this week. Bodhi was able to explain to the class the connection he made to the story Ruby’s Worry. Well done, Bodhi, it was great to hear you sharing your ideas with the grade.

This award goes to Harlan for demonstrating the Scoresby HEART values of Respect and Excellence during swimming this week. Harlan has listened carefully to his swimming teacher and practised the skills with great enthusiasm. Harlan, it is wonderful to see you having so much fun.

Sometimes the positive behavior and work ethic of a student doesn’t stand out because they do it all the time. Kate, you are one of those students. You bring a positive attitude to learning and you strive to give your best on each and every task, regardless of the subject. The pride you take in your finished work is something for all students to strive for. You are a terrific role model for your peers and younger students, making you an asset to our classroom and our school. Don’t ever change Kate!

Noah is to be congratulated for his remarkable dedication he’s shown towards his writing this week. Noah began writing an informative text on lions. He was sure to include complex sentences and use careful word choices. I look forward to reading the rest of your writing, Noah. You should be so proud of yourself – well done!

This week, Eva has demonstrated on multiple occasions her ability to reflect on her writing and focus on her goal of incorporating more complex connectives to write more compound and complex sentences. Amazing effort Eva! I am so proud to be your teacher!

Patris N. - Mandarin

This award acknowledges Patris for his effort in Mandarin class. We have been making a mini-book learning about the customs we can and cannot do on the day of Chinese New Year. Patris put in an excellent effort with lots of detail illustrating the sentences. Great work, Patris!

Bella L. - Performing Arts

Congratulations Bella. You’ve taken your ukulele skills to the next level. You can change comfortably between A minor, G, C and F, and you can play many songs using these chords. I also congratulate you on your excellent attitude and effort in Performing Arts lessons. Well done! 

Eva S. - Visual Arts

This award goes to Eva for her brilliant Ned Kelly collage inspired by Sidney Nolan’s Kelly series. Eva used a variety of overlapped and layered papers to construct her collage. Your creativity and diligence in Visual Arts is absolutely wonderful Eva!

Amir S. - Science

This award goes to Amir for his enthusiasm towards his science classes. Amir is joining in all class discussions, putting his best effort into his classwork and helping his classmates when they require extra help. Great job Amir, keep up this scientific attitude.
