Principal's Patch

Scott Anderson

The cold has certainly arrived! With this time of year our lost property boxes explode with lost jumpers, jackets and tracksuit pants so please remember to label all of your child’s winter uniform so if they are left behind, they can be returned.

Report Card Feedback

This term we received feedback from parents, the P&C and teachers around our current report cards. I would like to thank the parents for taking the time to provide us with this valuable feedback. As a result, from this semester report cards will look slightly different. There will no longer be comments for specific learning areas such as English as it was highlighted the current comments are a double up of information already sent home in year level newsletters.

Included will be an overall grade for each key learning area, a distribution of achievement (how many students in the year level received an A-E and where your child sits among their peers) and an effort mark. The general comment is highly valued by both parents and teachers and will now be highly personalised and highlight areas in which students are achieving well in English and Maths and outline their next steps in learning.  The report will also have a comment and grade for overall behaviour throughout the semester.

Report cards will be sent home in the final week of this term.

School Camps

Last week our Year 6 students attended camp at Camp Drewe at Lennox Head. This camp was a great success and our students enjoyed all of the activities in offer and have reported that the food was very good….. always a good sign! Most pleasing was to receive feedback from the camp that our student displayed outstanding manners and behaviour whilst on camp.

This week the Year 5 students are attending camp at Camp Goodenough. There were high levels of excitement as they boarded the busses and I’m sure they will not only have an amazing time but will also represent our school with pride.

A huge thank you to our staff for taking time away from thier own families to provide our students with these opportunities and experiences.

Readers Cup

Last week our school Readers Cup team competed in the 2023 Readers Cup at Hillcrest College. Congratulations to Stevie, Ivy, Keely, Harper and Lachlan who were outstanding representatives of Pam Beach SS and competed strongly against 17 other schools from across the coast. A huge thanks to Mr Norling for giving up many hours of his time to get our team fired up and ready for the night!

PRIME Water Bottles

Recently we have had some students bringing PRIME Bottles to school and using them as water bottles. A reminder that these bottles are banned at school even for use as a water bottle.
