Celebrating our outstanding Ones!
English
We have been getting creative writing our own narratives, focusing on using the correct structure with characters and setting in the beginning, a problem in the middle and solution at the end. We also had our very first Big Write, producing our own stories of if our toys came to life. Some of our ideas were amazing!
In Reading we have been looking at different types of words, how adjectives describe nouns to give more detail and different verbs for actions.
Maths
Grade 1s have started learning about telling the time to the hour and half hour. As Pevan and Sarah say, “Big hand to the top means it's o'clock, big hand to the floor, half past for sure!" We have been playing games and getting familiar with analogue and digital time.
Wellbeing
We have completed a variety of Respectful Relationships and Resilience Project lessons, coming up with strategies to help us cope when we are feeling worried, angry or upset. Some of these have included: taking some deep breaths, dancing it out, cuddling a teddy, playing with a toy, singing songs, exercising outside or spending time with a family member or friend.
