2023 Presentation Ball
Saturday 18th March
This years Presentation Ball saw a change of venue to the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre (HPAC), due to the continuing works in the West Gym.
'I enjoyed spending time with my friends making memories'
Starting on Sunday 5th February, this meant the following 6 weeks would include at least 10 rehearsals sessions (for most participants), the School and Glenelg District (interschool) swimming sports and the School athletics carnival also whilst begining their VCE/VM studies for this term.
With the coordination and guidance from Jill Robertson and Sharon Donehue, the parents of the participants did a great job in preparing the HPAC for the event. Most stunning was the flower arch, to which some devoted and artistic mothers transformed the wire frame into living and colourful adornment under which the students were presented.
'I enjoyed wearing a suit for the first time and learning how to dance'
A neat array of chariots carried our Presentee's to the Botanical Gardens for pre-ball photos. Ranging from Monaro's and Falcon's of yesteryear to the Mustang and Camero of today, all vehicles turned the head when they travelled in formation to the HPAC.
'Creating relationships, getting to know your year level and working together to help each other'
More photo's ensued and the students had their final opportunity to shake out their nerves and one last electrifying boost from the dance trainers, Mark & Helen Baker and Jodie Mayberry.
'Supporting one another, dancing and coming together as a whole, was enjoyable'
Come show time, no more excuses. Each student performed admirably under pressure making both their parents and instructors proud. The special dance was a magical momment where parents, family members and friends got to dance with the students with smiles beaming all arround.
Congratulations go to all the participants, parents and staff who have pulled together to make this a night to remember.
'I liked the special dance because my mum was very entertaining'
