How Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund is used

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:

  • school camps or trips
  • swimming and school-organised sport programs
  • outdoor education programs
  • excursions and incursions.

From 2020, the Victorian Government is investing an additional $160.9 million for the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund over the next 4 years.

This funding will help ensure more than 220,000 government and non-government students from lower-income families are able to participate in camps, sports and excursions each year.

Eligibility for the CSEF

Families holding a valid means-tested concession card or temporary foster parents are eligible to apply. A special consideration category also exists. Schools can receive applications from families by 23 June 2023.

Families can list more than one student in the one application form if they are attending the same school.

School Tours and Prep Enrolments

At LPPS we have been busy this term conducting Prep tours for 2024. Many prospective families have been welcomed by Mrs Caddy. The process for enrolling in Government Primary schools has been changing over the last couple of years leading to policy change. As of this year, a new Statewide timeline for prep enrolments is now firmly in place. We have attached the factsheet for you or may like to go to the Department of Education website:

https://www.vic.gov.au/enrolling-foundation-prep

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government school. The new timeline seeks to make the enrolment process simpler, clearer and fairer for families.

ABSENCE

Regular school attendance is crucial for your child's academic success and social growth. As a parent, you can support your child's attendance by ensuring they have a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and are prepared for school. It is also essential to communicate with your child's teacher and school staff to address any attendance issues promptly. By prioritising your child's attendance at school, you are helping to set them up for a lifetime of success.

Anzac Day 25th April

Anzac Day march and service at Yarra Junction. School Captains Myah and Dash and other students took part in the Upper Yarra RSL ANZAC Day march.   All of our students represented LPPS in a respectful manner.  Well done everyone!  Thank you to the parents who also went along to support their children in the march.

Building works

Over the break we undertook school improvement works, excavations in the 3/4 Playground have been completed with spoon drains being made to allow the flow of water to be directed correctly  to the proper drain down the back of the school. The outdoor classroom stage needed to be demolished for the spoon drains to run efficiently through the property. Water tanks have been fixed to work at their full capacity and removal of metal and rubbish from the grounds and grass seed has been laid.  When the grass takes our grounds will look wonderful. We continue to improve our school for the benefit of all students.
