Faith Matters

at St Francis Xavier School

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

I hope you enjoyed the last two weeks with your families and have experienced a smooth start to the new term.

HOLY WEEK

I would like to thank all our staff and students for the beautiful liturgy we experienced during the final week of Term 1.  There was such a serene and reflective atmosphere within the Red Centre as each class presented a scene depicting the events of Holy Week.

FAITH EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

It has been wonderful to see so many of you at the faith events and activities offered and we welcome you to attend these on-going opportunities as the year continues.

Wednesday morning whole school prayer will recommence next week. We invite families to join the classes every Wednesday at 8:50 and participate in the morning prayer which focuses on a variety of themes.

Our Year 6 Faith In Action Leaders/School Captains will continue to support the facilitation of whole school prayer this term.

MOTHERS' DAY MASS AND MORNING TEA

We hope to see mothers, grandmothers, and other women who play a significant part in the lives of our children at the Mothers' Day Mass and morning tea at 9:15am on Wednesday, May 10th. This celebration will commence in the church and then continue in the Red Centre at school. An invitation was sent home this week, please complete the RSVP slip which will enable us to adequately cater.

FIRST COMMUNION

This term our Year 4 students commence their preparation for First Communion which will be at 10:30am on Sunday, 18th June.  Candidates and their parents will also participate in a Eucharist Family Evening at 7pm on 25th May.

Warmest wishes and God's blessings,
