Welcome back to term 2! We hope you all had a lovely Easter and are ready for another busy term. We have a lot to look forward to in grade 6 and are excited to share lots of learning and fun. 

MATHS 

We have started a unit on time in maths this week. The students have been practicing telling the time, converting between 12 and 24 hour time and creating schedules. This term we will also be learning about place value, financial maths and angles. 

LITERACY 

The students are using the social skills they have been developing at school in their writing. We have posed a number of ethical dilemmas to the children and they have considered their options in how to respond. They have then used dynamic dialogue in their writing to show effective and ineffective ways of communicating to address the ethical issues. 

INQUIRY 

We are focusing on 'discovery' in inquiry this term. The students will learn about different scientific discoveries and the journeys people took to uncover them. 

They will learn about:

• Light refraction 
• Electrical circuits
• States of matter
