Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival

On Tuesday 19 June, a group of 24 athletes ventured to Santos Stadium for Section 3 of the Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival.

Many of the athletes performed well earning place ribbons. The behaviour and conduct of the boys throughout the day was impeccable and is to be commended.

Blackfriars was successful in winning Section 3 of the boys’ division.

The Under 11 age group did amazingly well and placed no lower than second in any individual event. It also meant they claimed the pennant as age champion team. The Under 13 boys also took out the pennant as the age champion team with a consistent spread of placings.

Thank you to the senior student helper, Kazim Sarwari, and to parents Mr and Mrs Waters and Mrs Nolan. Your assistance as marshals was very much appreciated! Thank you also to Mr Brealey for his support on the day.

We had a few parent supporters come and watch throughout the day. The boys really appreciated your support and being able to share their success with family members.
