Parents and Carer's Get Together

It has been fantastic having more families continuing to get back into school over this term so far. Our Social Worker, Sarah Keenan has worked hard in establishing a growing group of parents meeting once a fortnight for a drink and some nibbles, some learning and catching up. This Monday (August 8th) we will focus half the session to seeking some feedback on our Parent Opinion Survey data from the last 12 months. We would love as many families to join and contribute as possible- See "What's on in Wellbeing" section of this newsletter for more information!

Student Support Group Meetings and Individual Education Plans

Last Friday we had our Semester 2 Student Support Group (SSG) Day that provided the opportunity for collaboration between families and our classroom teams. Teachers are now busy developing an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for your child, which incorporates the specific goals discussed at the SSG.  Once completed, teachers will send the IEP home for you to review.

School Fun Run

We are excited to share that our annual School Fun Run is happening once again in Week 9, (Tuesday 6th of September). This event is a great opportunity to welcome families in to the school to join the event. Please keep your eye out for more information about ways to get involved with this major fundraising event, which will be coming home with students this week.

Pupil Free Day next Wednesday 10th August

Next Wednesday staff will be traveling around the state to visit a number of Special Schools that have recently been refurbished or received new schools/buildings.  The aim of the visits are to provide staff with an opportunity to look at different schools, classroom and playground designs and bring those ideas back to discuss as part of our new school build.  We appreciate your support of this day to allow the best opportunities for our future new school!
