Conferences

Last week was a true celebration of student achievement from Semester One, through Parent / Student / Teacher Conferences.  Students shared their learning and highlights of the semester.

If you missed your conference due to illness last week, please contact your child’s teacher to reschedule.

Learning in the Junior School

As part of their Integrated Studies Unit, ‘Move It, Make It’ our Year 1 students have been busy learning about the design process and how different materials are used to serve different purposes.

In literacy, students have been reading about and writing a range of procedural texts. It has been great to see the students writing progress over this unit as they are more selective about the verbs they are using to describe different actions.

On Wednesday the students thoroughly enjoyed their Taskworks incursion where they rotated through a range of activities to explore how the forces 'push' and 'pull' affect how an object moves or changes shape.

Our Year 2 students have been learning all about geography through their ‘Where in the World?’ unit.  On Wednesday they went on a walk to Candlebark Reserve to explore their local community.  Students were given the opportunity to interpret and use maps and identify significant landmarks while completing a scavenger hunt.
