From the Classrooms

Grade 3 Rugby Incursion

The grade 3s have been lucky enough to participate in 4 rugby sessions recently with a representative from the Melbourne Storm.  They have been learning many skills and drills during these sessions and even worked up to playing a mini game of rugby.  It’s been great to see the increased interest in the sport since starting these sessions, and some budding rugby players in the making!

The MFB Visit Prep!

Over the last 2 weeks, the Preps have been lucky enough to have the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) visit. Our first session was in the classroom, learning about safe and unsafe fires and what to do if there is a fire in your home. The Preps practised CRAWL DOWN LOW AND GO GO GO! and calling 000 in an emergency. They spoke about the importance of having a 'safe meeting place' near your home and knowing your address to tell the 000 operator. Our second session was outside exploring the awesome fire truck. The students got to sit inside the truck, look at all of their equipment and have a go at spraying the hose!

Happy 100 Days of Prep!

Hip, hip hooray! It was 100 Days of Prep last week! What a special day it was for our amazing Prep students. They had such a fun time doing lots of craft and games, a fashion show, making fairy bread (with 100s ands 1000s) AND a disco to top it off. So many more memories to come.

Active Travel Day - Thursday 11 August

Last Friday, Emma Gittus from the Bicycle Network, joined us at assembly to present our new Active Map. Our Active Map has been designed to identify the best routes for you to be able to walk, ride, skate or scoot to school. It even includes part-way drop off points to make it that little bit easier for everyone to have the opportunity to actively travel to and from school. We would love for everyone to join us on Active Travel Day in trying out one of the new Active Pathways on your way to school.
