This term in BEST, the Year 8 students have been learning how to separate mixtures using a range of techniques. Last week, students created a dirty water mixture by combining dirt, water, flour, grass, rocks, detergent and oil. Each session, they have learnt about a new separation technique and applied it to their dirty water sample. These have included sedimentation, decantation, flocculation, filtration, distillation and sanitation. Take a look at some of the results below!
