School Read-In Event | Come and Join Us on Thursday 25 August to Celebrate Book Week

Morris Library 3.30pm–6.00pm

High School & Clemes Libraries 4.00pm–6.00pm

"I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book" – J.K. Rowling

Families and friends are invited to be a part of the magic, and come to our school read-in event on Thursday 25th August. To celebrate Book Week, and the inaugural Australian School Library Day, the Morris, High School and Clemes libraries will all be open until 6.00pm. We would love to see as many people as possible coming along to share in the joy of reading for pleasure.

Bring your own book or select a great read from us on the day. Adults are welcome to borrow from our senior collections at the High School and Clemes, as well as our junior collections. There will also be a number of read-alouds for families to enjoy.

At Morris, it’s mainly an outdoor occasion, so feel free to BYO camp chairs, cushions, beanbags, blankets or sleeping bags to make it a snuggly, comfy reading experience (it’s still winter after all!). The High School and Clemes libraries are warm and inviting spaces if you would prefer to be inside, or you are welcome to look for a spot in the Morris library.

Books will nourish your soul, but for your body, soup and dinner rolls will be available for everyone at Morris from 4.00pm–5.30pm and hot drinks will be provided at all three libraries. Donations to support the work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation will be gratefully received.

Enjoy the chance to lose yourself in a great book! Come for a little while, or stay for longer, but do come and join us.
