CANBERRA EXCURSION
A bunch of extremely excited people, big and small, headed off to Canberra last Thursday for our Infants Excursion – the first in 2 years, making it the first excursion for all our students!! We travelled to Canberra to watch a stage performance of ‘The Twits,’ which was hilarious! The costumes and sound effects used to recreate the story of the devious pranks that Mr and Mrs Twit play on each other had everyone giggling away and a little horrified at the noises coming out of Mr Twit!!
Other highlights of the excursion were visiting a ‘new’ park for a wet picnic lunch in Canberra, as well as the trip on the big coach. A wonderful day – thank you to our super staff – both on the excursion and coordinating in the front office – fantastic to have all of our students (who were well enough) taking part in the excursion.

This week during Primary Stronger Smarter sessions students discussed the importance of NAIDOC week and how the smoking ceremony was a lovely way to refresh and reset ourselves. We also discussed how Aboriginal culture tell stories through art, music and dance.
Students engaged in a art activity using towelette paper, using this to create their own dot artworks. This exercise is wonderful activity to do for mindfulness and relaxation, whilst exercising patience and resilience. I was delighted to have many students report the following day that they had repeated the activity at home.
