Gimmel Canberra Camp

What an amazing week away at the Gimmel Canberra Camp we had.  Before we left and throughout the week we prayed earnestly for good health and safe travels.  Happily, everyone remained fit and healthy and our travels were without significant incident.   Thank you, God.

It was an action-packed week with plenty crammed into our schedule.  Everyone had their favourite activity but meeting the Governor General and his wife at Government House was toward the top of most people's highlight list.

We had a lot of fun but our main focus was an educational tour of our national capital. Students were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. We gratefully acknowledge the Government's contribution.

The Gimmel students are a fantastic group of students.  They represented our school with great distinction and made the accompanying teachers proud.
