Wellbeing

We have come to the end of another fantastic term of dog therapy. Rampage, Tia and Louise have had time with the students that had been selected for the program and then went into a classroom after each session to visit with the students in that room. All the students loved having the dogs in there and they learnt how to approach an unfamiliar dog and how to be calm around them.
We are very lucky that Louise will be coming back next term and a new group of students from Gr1-6 will be able to come in. Being in dog therapy assists with confidence, relationships and empathy towards others, school attendance and many other emotional benefits. Students generally feel calmer around animals and confidence grows as the dogs have no expectations of the students.
Our new Assistant Principal, Mrs Ignace got to meet the dogs yesterday too!
