Pride and Inclusivity

GAYMSS events 29th May - 2nd June

From the 29th of May - 2nd of June, GAYMSS organised 4 events to celebrate pride and inclusivity at JMSS. 

 

We started the week with a progress pride flag mural, filled in with fingerprints from students and teachers. The mural will hang in the school to serve as a reminder of our celebrated diversity. 

 

Our second event was a streaming of the documentary series Queerstralia (free on ABC :p). On Thursday, in collaboration with the music team, members of the club performed songs inspired by the queer experience or simply to celebrate. 

 

The final event, a small bake sale, helped us raise $374 for Minus18 to support queer youth. We can’t thank everyone who supported our cause this week enough and hope everyone is looking forward to our upcoming events - pronoun pins and Wear It Purple Day
