Fete in 2024

Please keep Saturday 23 March, 2024 free as we are going to hold a School Fete.    It has been many years since we had our last Fete but we are all very excited that this special whole school event can now occur.   More details about how you can become involved will be coming out soon.

Make a Wish Day Foundation

Congratulations to our Wellbeing Captains for initiating our special day on Tuesday.  It was wonderful being able to support the Make A Wish Foundation. We raised $561.35 for this wonderful foundation.

Student Disco

This Friday the P&F have planned a very special activity for our students - it is our 2023 Student Disco. I would like to sincerely thank our team of parent volunteers who have organised this event.  It is certainly something the students really enjoy and will undoubtedly be a night to remember for our children from Prep to Year 6.

A Compass post outlining the disco times, entry and exit details, were communicated last week. Please ensure that you have read this information and if you have any questions, please contact the office before Friday.

Could you also ensure that no child brings a mobile phone or smart watch.  Mobile phone and/or smart watch use is not permitted at school at any time.

Thank you to the disco committee who have made this event possible.

Members of this team are: Nat Northey, Amy North, Louise Armstrong, Melissa Drago, Helen Moore, Nicola Emmins and Courtney Ferdinands.

Restorative Practice PD

Our staff joined the staff from Beaumaris Secondary School this week in a Restorative Practice PD conducted by Mr Dave Vinegrad. This was part one of the training with the second part being conducted online.

Restorative Practice is a whole school teaching and learning approach that encourages behaviour that is supportive and respectful.

It puts the onus on individuals to be truly accountable for their behaviour and the repair any harm caused to others as a result of their actions.

Respectful Relationships

On Tuesday, 11 July, all families received an outline of the Respectful Relationships curriculum. It is essential that all families read the information as it outlines the content and how parents can access the modules.  Respectful Relationships education is a core component of the Victorian curriculum from Prep to year 12.  It is all about embedding a culture of respect and equality across the entire school community.

The Respectful Relationships Curriculum can be found by following the link:

Sporting Update

Our main sporting focus for term 3 is Athletics, as well as special team events of girls and boys AFL gala days.  These days are a round robin with the successful team moving to the next level.

One of our girls' teams played in the Regional finals on Monday and won, and now progress to the next level.  Well done girls, you have done an amazing job.

Congratulations also to our students who recently competed in The State Cross Country. Results from this event are communicated to our school community immediately following the event.

Thank You For Supporting Us

Thank you to many families in our school community who have assisted me with the contact details of trained teachers who can support us with casual relief teaching, during this time of teacher shortages.

Students Work

A lovely part of my work is when the students come over to the office to share their work that their teachers are proud of, whether it is really exceptional work, or they have tried their best on a piece and send them over for a special Principal sticker.
