A Message from David

Thank you to the parents and carers who attended the recent community forums. The focus of these forums was on vision and aspirations for TPS.  Discussion and feedback centred around the question ‘What are your aspirations for your children in their school experience at TPS?’ and more specifically ‘What are the most important things?, Why did you choose TPS?, and What would you like to see change?’ Common highlights include the Woiwurrung language and culture program as part of the First Nations focus, the arts programs, and the dedication of staff. For more detail on responses, see below.

In the forum, we also looked at the current school vision and whether it represented what we wanted in our school and whether it captured our aspirations for our children. The school’s vision should be co-created with, shared and owned by the school community, is appropriate to school needs and expectations, and is easily understood by everyone. Our school vision is:

To live and learn from Wurundjeri ways to care for Country. We promote curious and resilient learners who make a difference in our world. We are courageous and proud individuals who have high expectations for learning (Nanggit Balit). We are “A creative and diverse community growing together.”

If you were unable to attend one of the forums and have any thoughts on the vision, please get in touch David.Wells@education.vic.gov.au
