Year 5/6 Steiner–Celebrating Learning
Astronomy
Students have begun learning about the movement of the celestial bodies of our night sky, the way the sun changes over the course of the day, month, year, and beyond. We will be using our special Astronomy books to create work that reflects what we see in the images we research. Students are already asking great questions about the universe and how our planet works in relation to the rest of our solar system and beyond. Below are some thoughts about our start and the expectations for this Main Lesson, as well as some of our first images.
Mayla says, “I like learning about stars, the sun, and more, I’m excited for this Main Lesson”.
Gabe says, “I have found it interesting to know how the sun moves and the creation of the leap year. It’s really cool that we get to draw on our blue pages with white pencil”.
Jessica says, “I like the drawings. I like learning about the moon and the sun”.
Rosalie says, “I found it interesting creating the calendar in our book, and learning about how the calendar was created”.
Daisy says, “It is very nice to learn about space and how things change over time. I would love to learn more about the stars and space”.
