Keep an eye out for posters going up next week from our art captains Amelia and Sophia with details of an exciting art competition you can take part in.
Open to all ages, we want you to design a pocket for the science room lab coats. They must have a science theme.
Templates will be available from the art room from next week. You can work in pairs, groups or go it solo.
4 designs will be chosen.
We can't wait to see the designs you all come up with.
Over the last 2 weeks, foundation students have been focusing on the element of colour. We explored primary colours and how to mix them to make secondary colours by using food dye on our butterflies. It was a highlight for many to mush two primary colours together and open up to find a new secondary colour.
Students have been practicing cutting and painting skills to add the final details to their butterfly with amazing results. Some of these have made their way to the corridor so come and check them out next time you're passing.
Year 1 and 2 have continued to paint their Melinda Harper inspired abstract art. These bright and colourful paintings are a fantastic exploration of the element of shape and colour while practicing good technique.
This week students designed a unique and dynamic decoration on a paper snake mobile. They practiced their complex cutting skills to create a fantastic spiral effect.
Year 3 and 4 have completed their expressive pattern animals with a fantastic variety of lines, patterns and colour. Each one is unique in design and colour.
This week we broke out the acrylic paints to make some paper resources for our upcoming paper collage project. Students experimented with paint and layering colours to then scratch in texture into each piece. These papers will be shared among all the 3/4 students and was lots of fun to create.
Year 5 and 6 have been working hard on their camouflage mask project. This has been a challenge for everyone as they navigate drawing straight lines on the bumps and creveces of the three-dimentional object. The results speak for themselves and I'm so proud of the effort being put in to their artwork. Check out the display outside the library when you're passing to see more as they go up on display.
