P.E.

We’ve had some amazing efforts in sport from our students over the last few weeks.

We had the following 10 students represent Oatlands in the Division Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 8th March at the Noble Park Aquatic Centre, Logan, Tate, Lachlan, Nikhil, Ella, Hanya, Shenuli, Lexi, Ayvah and Tye. Six of these students came first in their events and will go on to compete in the Regional Swimming Championships, we wish them all the best and know they will represent Oatlands to the best of their abilities.

We’ve had some students competing in the Little Athletics State Championships with Summer  winning bronze in the under 12 girls 200m and 400m events and Nikini  became the under 9 girls State Champion in Discus throw, with a throw of 19.69m! We are all so proud of these students' achievements.

In our PE classes, our prep, grade one and grade two students are working on their Fundamental Movement Skills, focusing on underarm and overarm throwing. Some grade twos, and all of the grade threes have been learning some AFL skills, with students from SEDA college coming out and running clinics. Our grade fours and fives have been working on their softball skills and are now participating in Fully Loaded Softball Matches. Our grade Sixes are participating in a SEPEP unit of Fully Loaded Softball, which is a student-led program, focusing on students taking responsibility for their own physical education, learning and understanding on how to organise and participate in a particular sport.

We have our School Cross Country Carnival coming up on Tuesday the 4th of April for the students in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6.
