Symphonic Band performance
On Sunday 26 March our Symphonic Band played in a combined concert with the Southern Area Concert Band and Korowa Anglican Girls' School at the Kingston Arts Centre. The theme for this event was Villains and Superheroes. The pieces we played were Prelude and Firestorm, Escapade at Twilight, Shakespeare meets Godzilla, Into Battle and Disco lives.
As a whole combined band we played Superman, the Music from Loki and a prayer for Ukraine. Thank you to all of the students who gave up their Sunday to attend this event and a special thank you to Mrs Harvey, Mr Veevers and Mr Ho for making this wonderful opportunity possible.

Singfest
On the 28 March, Term 1, students from our music department had the opportunity to partake in Singfest, at Nossal High School. We were greeted with a warm welcome as 14 schools from the south-east region joined us. Across the day, we participated in many fun activities and singing exercises, as well as focusing on three pieces of music. We had the privilege of having the charismatic Anne Marie-Sharry as our choir conductor, as she helped us utilise our singing voices to create a wonderful symphony of sound. My friends and I greatly enjoyed the experience, and believe that it helped us strengthen our confidence in singing, as well as allowing us to meet students with the same passion. Singfest is now something I will look forward to every year! Thanks to Ms West, Mr Veevers, and Mr Ho for accompanying us to this delightful occasion.

2023 Junior Music Showcase
On Monday 3 April the music program held a Junior Music Showcase where the Junior and Middle School students presented what they had been learning in band or ensemble so far.
This was the Year 7 students first performance so far they played the first performance of Classic Hot Cross Buns and three other pieces we all agreed they did an amazing job! The Year 8 band played three songs. Thank goodness we improved a lot since last year's performance and I think we did a great job.
The Junior Strings, Allstar Choir, and the Junior Guitar Ensemble also performed and all did outstanding performances. Thank you to all of our incredible teachers for making this performance possible.
