Whole School Expo

It was great to see so many parents in our classrooms last week to attend our whole school expo.

The Grade 3 and 4 students were very excited to share all that they have achieved this term.  Topics covered include Finance and Money (Numeracy) and Persuasive Texts (Literacy).  They have also reflected on the traits of an effective learner, establishing routines to help them study to the best of their abilities.

In Integrated Studies, the module was “Get Active” which looked at the benefits of healthy living.  This included a very popular excursion to the MCG, and an informative in-school presentation by aspiring Paralympian, Liam Twomey.

As the focus of the “Get Active” module, students researched a question that was of interest to them, and then prepared a presentation. Questions included:

  • What are the benefits of participating in sports?
  • What are some of the risks associated with being inactive?
  • How can we encourage kids to be more involved in sports?
  • What are some interesting sports kids might enjoy?

The expo showcased their creative approaches to tackling these topics with a variety of presentations.

Thanks again to every parent for supporting your child in their studies this term.

Wishing you all a safe and relaxing Easter break!
