What's been Happening on Farm

Sam and Gary from Paradise Beef attended the College this week to conduct soil sampling on the regenerative trial paddock at the Intensive section.  This program is run over 5 years.

Cattle Club

Cattle Club is well underway on each Monday and Wednesday after school at the Dairy. This year we have split the group into two due to the high demand.  With the Harvey Show just around the corner, students are busy preparing their heifers.

Harvey Beef Gate to Plate School Challenge

Following lunch Wednesday,  Mr Howell, Mr Sullivan and  9 students travelled to Denmark Ag to stay for 2 nights whilst attending the Harvey Beef Gate to Plate School Challenge in Albany.

This is an interschool competition run alongside the Harvey Beef Gate 2 Plate Challenge, where students are involved in a number of activities during the day;

  • Presentations from industry speakers
  • Assessments on presentations
  • Fun group activities designed to create discussion around current topics in the beef industry
  • Presentations about different careers in the agricultural industry
  • Beef industry quiz
  • Providing students with an opportunity to network with the whole beef supply chain from corporate identities to the producer.

Congratulations to our team for placing 3rd in the event.

Mr Sullivan and I would like to commend our students for their conduct and engagement over the few days.  They are wonderful ambassadors for the College.
