Getting to know us

Each issue, we will be introducing you to a member or two of our school staff team! 

This fortnight we are introduced to: ALI! 

Hi there, I’m Alison (Ali) and I am the school’s Business Manager. 

Corrie and I commenced our Newtown PS journey together, arriving to school in Jan of 2021 – right in the thick of COVID! It has been a fun, bumpy at times, exciting learning experience and I thoroughly enjoy working with our wonderful NPS staff and school community! 

My husband, Chris and I have an energetic young family. Our daughter, Pippa is in grade 3 and son, Marty is in grade 1. Our beloved schnoodle, Maci will be turning 12 this year. Over the Christmas break we added some family chickens to our backyard in Mt Duneed. We love cuddling them and watching them poke about in our garden. 

On the weekends when I’m not organising the house or running around for sports activities and birthday parties, you’ll find me pottering in our yard or trying to squeeze in a lunch date with friends. 

My responsibilities at Newtown PS are to oversee the operations of the school office, maintain the school’s day to day finances and budgets, oversee school purchasing, I assist in conducting the school's fundraising activities, manage the staff HR and lots of other odds and ends. I am a member of the school’s consultative committee and you’ll also find me at most School Council meetings as a member of the school's finance sub committee. 

I am a sucker for anything cute and fluffy and love to have a pat of all the family dogs that come to school pick up at NPS.
