Making Music

Playing the 'Boomwhacker'

In Week 5, music students enjoyed the inaugural JPII "Boomwhacker Day", with grades 1-6 exploring these wacky instruments during their music classes. We used some play-along videos from YouTube to perform hit songs like "Believer" and "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons, and firm favourite "Hakuna Matata" from The Lion King. The Boomwhacker is best described as a large coloured tube, which makes a "BOOM"  of a certain pitch when whacked against something - this could be a chair, your hand, or the floor.

Played together, the Boomwhackers sound awesome!

Take a listen to Grade 5/6 Huon students performing 'Believer'.
