Farewell from Anne
Farewell letter from Anne Tanner
JPII Business Manager of 18 years
Firstly I need to point out that we are all here today, because we have a shared interest in helping to make each and every one of you grow to be your very best.
Can I remind you once more to always use your manners, smile, and try to be grateful every morning you wake up for at least one thing, but the challenge is you can’t use the same one twice.
Challenge yourself. Who here can do star jumps? Well if you think you can do 20 star jumps set a goal of doing 25. You will surprise yourself every time. When it’s hard, keep going, it will pass! Nothing lasts forever.
Parents, thank you for trusting me with the care of your children. I’ve always seen it as a partnership, we both want your children to be their very best.
Thank you to our leadership team, Brendan, Lauren and Alison. You work very hard every day with planning and implementing programs and overseeing the running of the whole school. You do an amazing job.
Thank you to the Catholic Education Office. They have been a fantastic support as we continued to improve our administration processes. Things have changed a lot over the past 18 years. I have never been bored and my job has been a wonderful balance fulfilling me in my love of children, my love of finance and my love of being with people. I have found being of service to staff, students and families an absolute privilege. Thank you for trusting me.
A big thank you to all the staff, JPII is unique, I have made life long friends. Not many work places are so good that you choose to socialise with them. A group of us did the Overland track and the 3 Capes track a few years ago. We have had many laughs and they have supported me through a few health issues a number of years ago.
I can’t finish without a special thank you to Donna and Jody. Donna you are a very gentle soul and I will miss our conversations as we share our love of the outdoors and our love of all things wellness. Jody, you have been with me through thick and thin. You have been a loyal friend. We have laughed and cried. You’ve had my back many times and you have seen me at my weakest moments and my strongest moments. You have a fantastic sense of humour and I think we have been the best team. I am going to miss you very much.
I am looking forward to spending time with my husband exploring our wonderful state and country and smelling the roses a bit more.
As I have been reflecting on my last 18 years I have been reminded life is short and we only get one chance.
Thank you each and every one of you for making JPII a special community.
Anne.
