FOR SACRED HEART FAMILIES

TERM 1 SCHOOL FEES

Just a friendly reminder that Term 1 School Fees are due no later than Thursday 6 April. We have extended this date due to the lateness of the invoices being emailed to families. As always, if you are having any difficulties please contact Mrs Baird or Ms Traynor at the office.

YEARLY GENERAL PERMISSION NOTE

There are still a few families that haven't yet given permission on the Compass Event - Yearly General Permission. On advice from the CSO, I have extended the expiry date until Friday 15 December, however if this permission has not been given your child will not be able to attend any events with the town boundaries of Boggabri. If you are having any issues, please contact the school.

 NAPLAN 2023

What is NAPLAN

NAPLAN is a national literacy and numeracy assessment that students in Years 3 and 5 sit each year. Students sit assessments in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.

When is NAPLAN

This year the date for NAPLAN has changed and the assessments will be held in MARCH. NAPLAN will be completed over a two week period. The Year 3 and 5 students will sit their assessments on:

15th March- Writing

16th March - Reading

21st March- Conventions of Language

22nd March- Mathematics

If you have any concerns about these dates please call the school.

What will students need?

Schools have transitioned from paper-based to computer-based assessments. The students will use their school chomebooks on the day but they are required to have a working set of headphones that they have brought from home. If your child has not brought in a set we ask that you send a pair in immediately.

What can I do to support my child?

Students are not expected to study for NAPLAN. You can support your child by reassuring them that NAPLAN is a part of their school program and reminding them to simply do their best. Teachers have ensured students are familiar with the types of questions in the assessments and have provided appropriate support and guidance in the lead up to the day.

Individual student NAPLAN reports will be provided by the school later in the year.
